The SEME or UKE Quiz
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as The Breaker SEME

You are the most imaginative, helpful, and strong-hearted SEME out there. You can be quiet and helpful at the same time which is a rarity. You're good at listening to others and you don't deny their ideas. One thing you can't stand is seeing someone sad, crying, or otherwise unhappy. Those who think you're shy aren't always the most right but it's true you don't need to talk much unless you have something important to say. You would be paired with the Sorrowful UKE because everyone needs a shoulder to cry on and you're just the guy/gal for the job. It's best to avoid the Homicidal SEME but even if you do that it's easy for someone as calm and helpful as you to get mixed up in the schemes of the certain Devilish UKE. You are truly best placed with the Gentle SEME as a buddy. For my last info, I have to say that you really don't mind and will go with the flow - whatever your partner is into is fine by you but considering who you're best matched with I'd say that they'd be too scared to do anything out of the ordinary. Give them a little nudge to let 'em know it's alright, okay?

Okay, yes. I guess after taking a Myers-Briggs type indicator test recently, it fits. But...seme? Hmm. A bit ironic, actually, since I was just pondering the other day the quandary of why I seem to write so much 85 when 58 makes more sense to me in light of canon interactions. Still, switching is good.

Strange.

Awww, yes, "Without A Clue" is very cute. Have you ever seen Fin de Siecele Detective Club? It's an obscure but very very pretty Watson/Holmes yaoi manga. Yes, seme!Watson. It's awesome. XD

But you maybe have no idea what I'm talking about ^_^;

I'm a longtime fan of the original book -- got it when it first came out! -- but I haven't gotten around to seeing the movie version of Stardust yet. ;)

You've seen it? ¤_¤ I've never met anyone who has before. :D
...Althought, since I had the movie on VCR and we don't have a working VCR player anymore...darn. Oh well, I've watched it pretty often anyway. ^__^
I think I saw that doujin when it was posted on yaoi_daily. At least parts of it >_>?
Yes, it was definitely pretty, that I do remember :)

Have you seen the illustrated version?
The movie was...very different. They'd changed the story quite a lot. I usually try not to compare books and movies too much, since it's a different medium and all. If you haven't seen it I won't spoil too much, but I'll say some changes were pretty fun, whereas others bugged me. Oddly enough, my biggest peeve was Victoria's characterization =_=;.

Yes, although I've not seen it as often as you -- I never owned a copy. But I remember seeing it, either rental or on TV, many years ago and laughing a lot.

And back when I bought my copy, I think the illustrated version was the *only* version, and they didn't bring out one with nothing but text until a few months later. (Which I don't see the point of, really, because Charles Vess does such beautiful, beautiful work!)

I have heard from folks who've seen the movie about all the massive changes, and some of them sounded troubling enough that they severely lowered my interest in catching the film. I will probably still watch it eventually, as a rental or when it comes around on TV, but it sounded like some of the changes would bug me enough that I would be annoyed if I paid first-run-theater prices to see it on the big screen. (If I'd been more on the ball, I would have waited until it hit a really fun small local second-run theater, which serves actual restaurant food instead of the usual theater snacks, and alcohol. Even a bad movie automatically becomes much more enjoyable after several ciders! *grin*)

My copy was...is actually taped from tv as well. One of my luckiest taping choices, that. :D

I think I read the finnish translation first, and that, unfortunately, doesn't have the illustrations. I found that later by accident, and liked the book better immeadiately :P

"small local second-run theater, which serves actual restaurant food instead of the usual theater snacks"
¤_¤...wow. I don't think we have anything like that here. Sounds really fun. Only special thing about a smaller theaters here is that sometimes there might not be anyone else watching the movie. :P

Ah, got it. I know they released a version without the illustrations here -- I guess trying to get the sort of market that would sneer at anything that looked too much like a children's storybook with pretty pictures -- but the version with the Charles Vess art was out first in comic book shops, where folks who were already fans of Gaiman and Vess snapped it up...

The Drunkhouse, as my local friends nickname the place, is fun -- that sort of theater isn't the most terribly common sort of thing over here, either. It doesn't have the huge screens and fancy sound systems of the big theaters, but it's a fun, casual atmosphere -- like a good friendly neighborhood pub that serves food and drinks and just happens to run movies, too. Between the cheap ticket prices and the alcohol, even mediocre movies suddenly become a lot more fun when you see them here. XD
